Accurately and safety performs all duties related to receipt, stocking, picking, issuing and shipment of materials in order to increase operational efficiency, company profitability and customer satisfaction.

Job Description

  • Receives incoming shipments of materials and unloads goods in the appropriate area.
  • Opens boxes, crates, and other containers and disposes of packaging appropriately
  • Verifies item/amount/quantity received on purchase order and conducts ERP transactions via computer or handheld scanner.
  • Marks materials with identifying information in appropriate manner.
  • Moves material to racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, or product code and stores safely utilizing First In/First Out methodology.
  • Operates forklift, walkie or cranes as required to receive, move, or stock materials.
  • Picks materials needed for work orders by reading the pick ticket, locating, and pulling the material, recording heat numbers, verifying quantity, and initialing the work order.
  • Kits materials on carts or in baskets in a safe manner and ensuring carts/baskets are properly marked.
  • Issues materials via computer or handheld scanner.
  • Perform all Material Handling duties for assigned Value Stream or outplant operations.
  • Pull and package material for shipments of stocked components.
  • Processes vendor returns following instructions from Purchasing group.
  • Pick up or deliver parts or products via the Company Truck.
  • Conduct daily inspections of Forklift(s) and Walkie(s) and routine inspections of cranes and lifting equipment.
  • Conduct cycle counts as directed.
  • Cross train in other functions and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Complete all 5S duties and maintain a clean, safe, and professional working environment.
  • Participate in Lean/Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Individual

  • High school diploma or equivalent  
  • Entry-level. 1 - 3 years of relevant experience is a plus.  
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal  
  • Requires ability to be certified to operate a lift truck or walkie.
  • Ability to pass requirements to drive company truck.

 PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time; a minimum of 2 hours.
  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the office, shop, warehouse, or manufacturing plant
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
  • Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment.
  • Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives, changing priorities and reassign priorities to complete assignments.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
