Smiths Group plc has announced the appointment of Terry Bridgewater as the new Director, Environment, Health and Safety.
He joins Smiths on February 1 2006 and will report to Arnold Wagner, the Human Resources Director.
Terry Bridgewater, who succeeds Jonathan Garrett, joins us from Goodrich Corporation where he has been Director, Environment, Health and Safety Programmes for the past two and a half years.
Before this, he was Director of EH&S for TRW Aeronautical Systems and Lucas Aerospace.
With a background in mechanical engineering, Terry has a Masters Degree in Contaminated Land Management and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
Human Resources Director Arnold Wagner said: Smiths EHS strategy has a clear focus one based on performance improvement through eco-efficient operations, accident reduction in the workplace and the development of more sustainable products.
I welcome Terry to Smiths. He brings skills and experience that will help us continue to improve our performance in this area.
