The Board of Smiths Group plc announces that Peter Turner has informed it of his intention to step down as Finance Director to pursue opportunities outside the Group. Peter will remain in his role for the next six months while a search for his successor is undertaken. The Board thanks him for his contribution and years of service.

Peter Turner said: “I feel it is time for me to take on new challenges and develop my career. I have enjoyed my five years with Smiths and I thank Philip and all my colleagues at Smiths for their understanding and support.”

Chief Executive Philip Bowman said: “I have enjoyed working with Peter and I warmly thank him for the support he has given me and the Board over the past five years. I wish him well in his future career.”
