Smiths Detection, part of global technology business Smiths Group, has completed a major order of advanced detection equipment for Emirates Group Security at its facility in Dubai World Central, an economic support zone around the new Al Maktoum International Airport.

The contract comprises a range of HI-SCAN X-Ray cargo scanners covering the inspection of bulk containers, standard freight and oversized baggage. The screening system developed for the facility also includes centralized monitoring where images can be analysed from a central control room.

Paul Baker, Smiths Detection’s Managing Director, Middle East, said: “We are proud of our long-standing collaboration with Emirates Airline and Dubai Airports, during which we have provided technologically advanced security and screening solutions for the airline’s multiple facilities across the emirate.”
