Flex-Tek, a global provider of engineered components, is collaborating with leading medical technology organisations around the world to help build ventilators to save lives and combat COVID-19 by accelerating its production of heating plates in its Chinese operations

Heating plates, like those created by Flex-Tek are a critical part of some ventilators, helping to create humidity before air/water/gas passes to a patient.

Flex-Tek’s design and manufacturing site located in Changshu site is able to produce up to 500 units per day and have so far received orders for over 11,000 heating plates that it has committed to delivery by the end of April.

Flex-Tek, a member of Smiths Group, is a global provider of engineered components that heat and move fluids and gases for the aerospace, industrial, construction and domestic appliance markets.  Last year the company increased its focus on opportunities within the medical components market, which is now being accelerated to support the recovery efforts.

“We are proud to be part of the worldwide effort to meet the ventilators needs and contribute to this global challenge during this very difficult time of period.” said by Glenn Xu, Flex-Tek Changshu site manager and China MD Council member.
